Stuff going on!

I have been a lame blogger and skipped a few days, so here goes!
Woke up on Sunday morning at 6AM (after getting 4 hrs of sleep) and decided to go to Master's at Emory. Since it was raining , I figured it would not be held, but I went to check it out anyway! oh, they held it alright!!! Bill, the coach, was wearing a yellow poncho, and was screaming out some commands. Intimidating! My warm-up was 1000 which consisted of swimming and drills. Then, he made me do several other things, and i wound up swimming 2600 total! Of course, I have A LOT of work to do.
That afternoon Steven, Dani, Keith, Dave, Andres and I checked out Tour De Georgia. We were stationed at the feed zone, where riders exchange bottles and receive food. A creepy guy from the Cliff Bar team gave us a whole bunch of bottles. Score! We got a few more from other teams as well! Of course having "the girls" helped! Andres was trying desperately to grow some, but was not successful! Went to yummy Lafonda afterwards., which was 100 times better that my dinner in Athens the night before.
On Monday, Steven took Keith's class and several people told me that he has been sandbagging us all and that he is much stronger that he lets on. I think he is gunning for me............................
A finny thing happened on Tuesday morning. For the first time, in the world of sports, I was glad to be big chested. I showed up to the spin room at 5am to spin for 45 min before the class was to start, and Maria Elena who is the instructor came in and looked frazzled. i asked her what was wrong, and she told me she forgot her sport-bra. Well, lucky for her, I have to wear 2, so I just gave her one of mine!
Today, it was a very busy day at work, but I was able to get a run around St. Mtn. in and 1900 swim.

Our Luna kits are in, I am very excited!!!!

A brick and twilight crit

On Saturday, Steven and I went to Stone Mountain and I did a 35/5mile brick. It felt really good to run after the ride.

Around 5:45 we headed out to Athens for the Twilight Crit. It was raining for the most part of the way there, but stopped shortly before we got into town. Spanx and Keith were with us as well. Someone was supposed to research where the race was but did not, so I offered. not a good thing. We got there around 7PM, found parking (not an easy task) and watched the women take off. Then, we spent at least an hour looking for Olga!!!!

Shortly after sundown, the guys started. Oh, man, that was cool!!! They were going at speeds that are only known to us going downhill at Hogpen! Quite a few people had crashed. out of 4 peeps on Diego's team, he was the only one that finished.

Some shady business was going on at the food kiosks! Keith got a $5 lemonade (that's how he rolls!) and I got some cold jerk chicken for $8 which was not good.

I had a great experience, and determined that I need to train a whole lot harder!

Congratulations goes out to Dana, who kicked butt and to Diego for finishing in the top 40!

This sucks!

I have a migrane! I just had to bitch about it! No master's. THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, yeah, Steven decided to take a day off, because he claims to have pink eye. NOT!!!!

Busy

Today is my day off from work and it sure as heck does not feel like it. Took a spin class +30min at 5:45am and been going non stop since! This training schedule is making me fall behind on other stuff, so today is THE day! At the GAPs I realized that the heels of my tri shoes are totally worn out, so i need some. Luckily, all 3 has a closeout on some, and all they have is my size so I need to zoom over there, my neighbor just had a baby girl, need to get a gift and other crap to do. UGH! I would rather be outside!!!!

I am going to check out master's swimming this evening at Emory. Wish me luck!

3 Gaps

Went to the Gaps with Olga, did not seem cold in Tucker this morning, but when we got out of the car at the beginning, we realized that it must have been 10 degrees lower. All we had were our shorts, short sleeve jerseys an arm warmers! How could I forget the golden rule-bring everything and then decide what to wear!

I think I am getting stronger, I was almost able to keep up with Olgita, and my heart rate max was 155bpm! According to the Garmin, we've reached up to 37 mph. Scarry!

3.5 run after, pretty hilly! We both felt great after.

Met some peeps that will be racing at the twilight criterium next Saturday in Athens. I can not wait to check that out!!

The schedule for this week i pretty packed and school is starting soon.

Next race on the calendar is Macon. 3.1m run-56m bike-13.1m run. Fun, fun, fun!!!!

Here is the dirt!

Swim:
The water could not be calmer! 78.2 degrees, no wetsuit. At the blast of a cannon, each group approx. 130-160 peeps entered the water. I stood to the back and did not rush. As soon as i started swimming I got kicked in the head, then in the chest. It took me quite a long time to recover, but when i did, the swim was great, of course since i do not swim in a straight line, it was probably close to 3/4th of a mile-26 min., do not laugh!
Bike:
Awesome feeling on those Zipps (you rock, Spanx!) and the helmet! Garmin registered 18.6 miles-1 hr 2 min. The course had a few turns and with my great bike handling skills, i had to slow down. Did pass quite a few people though, what a great feeling, I am used to being passed!
Run:
Kicked butt! Garmin registered 4.46 miles-32min 11sec!

I loved this race and would strongly recommend it for next year! We are going back for sure! Steven will do his first tri in Miami next year as I did this year! Cool!!!!

Congrats to Dani for placing 3rd in her age group, and Keith 4th in his! You guys are my inspiration and may be one day I will be able to keep up!

Training goes on... 2000 meters in the pool yesterday and 5 mile run and 20 mile bike today.

South Beach tri

Hello fron sunny Miami!

Got here yesterday morning, some sketchiness at the airport, we had to pay $65 for the bike, and when we got to Miami we found some puncture holes in my bike bag-no damage to the bike, so all is good!

Were not able to check in till 3pm, so after eating lunch we went down to the beach, and found where they started to set up the venue. After checking in, decided to go for a slow, easy 3.5mi run with a walk after. I think between Fri. and Sat. we've walked close to 15 miles. I guess it's good for you! Keith said that if I had a coach, he would have blessed me out for doing this much walking!

This morning, woke up around 6:30 and went for a swim, some other racers were testing out the waters as well. It was choppy! When we got out, I felt like I just got off some rinky-dink boat, my head was spinning! Steven said he would give me a Dramamine before the race, I smell sabotage! A short bike ride was in order, to make sure the bikes were cool. It's funny, but I feel more comfortable on a road with cars, then on a path with a whole bunch of people! It's those great bike handling skills!

Went down to the expo to get checked in. So many serious people, i am intimated! My race swim wave is at 7:20 and Keith's is at 7:45!

Saw Andy Baldwin, the bachelor and of course had to have a picture! Anna Kornyakova is also competing, she will do the run for the relay team. There goes my help from Steven.

I think this race will be a lot of fun, I am going to enjoy it!

All packed and ready to go.

I am packed and ready to go to Miami. Not sure if I am more scarred or excited. I do have nightmares of me DNFing or getting hit in the head while swimming or getting lost in transition area, etc!

I am wishing best of luck to Dani on her first tri of the season and of course to Keith who is awesome for coming to Miami, and to my husband for putting up with my crap all weekend leading up to the race.

And best of luck and many thanks to my parents for babysitting!

So much to do, so little time!!!!!

This weekend was great training! Fri-swim, Sat-swim/run, Sun-swim/bike /run. Went to Colums Dr on Sunday to test out Dave's Zipp wheels and my new aero-hermet. I felt so super fast with avg. 20miles/hr.- which is good for me. Saw Bob and Sue who were out for a 20 mile stroll looking super strong!

On Saturday, we dropped off the delinquents at the groomers which totally pissed them off. When we got back, Steven took them both on a long walk. After they got back, Steven was sitting on the couch, and Boo squatted down right in front of him and took the biggest and stinkiest poop! Come to Jesus meeting was in order! As Boo was running away from Steven, he stepped right into the pile of poop and kept running! What is wrong with that boy?
This evening took Keith's class. Lot's of familiar faces. The hill troll strikes again, it was a good class.
Congrats to Olga on a great race in Florida this weekend! You make me proud!

Oh the stupid pollen.....

Met up with Olga at Stone Mountain for a small loop run. She did great!!!!! Some guy tried to race me but it did not work out for him!!! Then, off to the pool for a 1/2mile swim. The whole time I was swimming , i felt like a rock was stuck in my chest, then, after I got out of the pool, my breathing felt labored and I felt like I was going to have an asthma attack, not that I ever had one, took a Benadryl and feel soooo much better(need to swipe an inhaler from work just in case, self prescribing is the best!!!). Ran in to Walter in Target, I am glad that he is feeling better. There will be so many more races for him, he is a tough cookie! This weather is crazy, today is 73 and tomorrow will be 50s and raining, no wonder people are getting sick. Dani, I will say a prayer for your friend, but I know that everything will be all right!

The weather is so blah!

I am off again today. Much needed! Met Olga for a 5:45am spin class and a wet suit swim in the pool afterwards. People were starring at us, oh well. We had puddles of sweat under us, trying to get these things on, finally after 30min we were off in the pool. Felt pretty good, hopefully i will get to use it in Miami. www.southbeachtri.com I am getting sooooo excited!!!!!! I think i am ready!!!!! So many things to think of when you are flying. Does anyone know whether i can bring co2 cartridges with me? Oh yeah, the weather is blah and it's making me lazy. Thanks to my wonderful dogs, I have not slept well in 4-5days!! Hardwoods and claws-not cool! Somebody will be getting groomed this week.
