Better Day!

Better day at work and in general, other then a migraine :( Found out that I could of gotten a Peachtree 1st 1000 finishers mug after all, I finished 140th in the women's division. Now I figure this out, 4th of july was how long ago?!!! Oh well, next year!

This weekend I am taking the plunge and signing up for my first Ironman! Wow! What a rush! Next year will be my second triathlon season and I will finish it with a BANG!!!! I am very lucky to have a training partner in Spanx and Steven. Good luck, boys! It will be a bumpy ride, I am sure of it.

I am only human...

Rough day at work...I have made my first mistake as a nurse. I know that we all make mistakes, but this is tough. Especially for someone with type A personality. No one hurt, but lesson learned. Need a drink immediately.

Busy

I have been a pretty lame blogger lately, I admit! It has been a busy couple of weeks. Work and marathon training have been taking up ALL of my time. 10 miles here, 6 there, a little swim and a whole lot of work adds up! I am pretty tired :(
Last weekend, ran on trails at Fort Yargo and did 11 miles with Suobs, it was pretty nice. Steven was the smartest one of all and turned around at the 3mile mark. I am beginning to LOVE the trails, only i have no sense of directions, so if I ever go alone, I will get lost.
Tomorrow, we are doing a Jittery Joes metric century which benefits the Habitat for Humanity, a great cause. And on Sunday, a 21 mile run with the Suobs. The route should not be as hilly as the last one, so hopefully we finish strong.
I look forward to this weekend to ride, run and relax! Oh yeah, I have not been on my bike since Emerald Pointe! We'll see!!!!!!!

Da weekend

Does that mean 20 miles?

This weekend was a busy one! On Saturday, I ran 5 miles at Yellow River with Suobs. I never thought that I would like trail running so much. It was great. Something about the crispness of the air and falling leaves. Loved it!

On Sunday, set out on a 20 mile run, again with the Suobs. It was sooo hilly, and I swear, the weather must of changed three times! it was cool and breezy when we started, then the sun came out, then it became cloudy and drizzly.......how long did we take? We ended at the Flying Biscuit at Piedmont Park. Steven was awesome to meet us there with dry clothes, so we could change and pig out. Bob and Sue! you are awesome running partners, any time you need company, I am there.

Finally, Emerald Pointe

I am sad to say, but my triathlon race season is OVER!!! It could not have ended a better way with all my friends being there, either racing or volunteering and achieving the goal that I set for myself, finishing in top 5 of my age group. Now, most of my training will go toward the Thanksgiving Day Marathon. Goals? Hell NO!!!!! This is my first marathon and my goal is to finish.
